Cardiff City Football Club have this morning formalised the deal to see Rhys Healey join the club from Welsh Premier League team Connah’s Quay.
Striker Rhys, who has scored sixteen goals this season links up on a deal that will keep him with 'City until at least the summer of 2015.
Of the move Malky Mackay said, “We’ve brought Rhys in after having looked at the division to see what the best young talent is there - and we think Rhys is one with huge potential. He’ll be training with our Development Squad and Under 18s to start with. We’ll try and bleed him in gently towards the senior setup and see how he develops, but he’s certainly one with great potential for the future."
Speaking exclusively to cardiffcityfc.co.uk, 18 year-old Rhys added: “I’m really happy to make the move to Cardiff City. I’ve always liked the Club and I know this is a bit opportunity for me to impress. I’m a striker who likes to play through the middle on the heels of the last defender and I love to score goals. It’s now up to me to settle in a new environment, get my head down and work hard. Hopefully, as I progress, I’ll be able to show people what I’m about.”
