A penalty from former Bluebird Aaron Ramsey cancelled out Ivan Trickovski's opener but a late strike by Aleksandar Trajkovski was enough to secure the win for the home side and condemn Chris Coleman to defeat, mathematically ending chances to qualify for next summer's World Cup in Brazil. Young City full-back Declan John was on the bench.

City 'keeper David Marshall started and played the full 90 of Scotland's 2-0 defeat to Belgium at Hampden Park, goals from Steven Defour and Everton's Kevin Mirallas enough to secure victory for the Belgians who now claim a commanding lead in Group A, midfielder Craig Conway was an unused sub. A trip to Skopje and Macedonia comes next for the Scots.
Midfielder Aron Gunnarsson captained Iceland in their 4-4 draw with Switzerland in Berne. Iceland initially took a third minute lead before falling 4-1 behind in the second half only to claw it back to 4-4 thanks to Az Alkmaar's Johann Gudmundsson who completed his hat-trick with a last minute equaliser.
Earlier in the day, City midfielder Kim Bo Kyung came on as a 76th minute substitute in South Korea's 4-1 friendly victory over Haiti in Incheon.
Steven Caulker was forced to miss out in England's 4-0 win over Moldova. Gary Medel is set to represent Chile tonight in Santiago in their World Cup qualifier against Venezuela, kick-off 1.30am (UK time).
