Uruguayan U20 defender is City's sixth signing of the summer
Cardiff City Football Club is pleased to announce the signing of Uruguayan U20 international, Maximiliano Amondarain.
The 20 year-old central defender impressed during a trial period earlier in the summer and now links up with Malky Mackay's squad from CA Progreso, in Montevideo.
Maxi was part of the Uruguayan U20 squad that finished runners-up to France in July's 2013 FIFA U20 World Cup in Turkey. A strong and talented ball-playing centre-half, he completed his medical in Cardiff on Friday prior to signing a four year deal with the Bluebirds.
We wish to thank our colleagues in South America for their highly professional conduct and assistance in the transfer.
Check back here on Saturday for Maxi's exclusive first interview as a Cardiff City player, plus reaction from Malky Mackay
