A Bluebirds fan is urging her fellow supporters to get involved with The Academy Foundation after winning a once in a lifetime experience at the Blackpool game recently.
Aimee Harris was a guest in the board room for the match on 9 January after winning the prize through The Academy Foundation regular draw
Aimee contacted the club with the following E-mail.
"I am a member of the Cardiff City Football Club academy foundation and I was the first lucky member to win the boardroom experience for the Blackpool game at the Cardiff City Stadium on the 9th of January 2010. On my arrival at the stadium I was greeted by the boardroom host Keith Cooper who ensured that my experience of the day was first class. Whilst in the boardroom I met John Toshack, Peter Ridsdale and other directors - people who I never dreamt of meeting! Furthermore they went out of their way to converse and make me feel comfortable.
"I thought the team played well despite injuries and illness and although we were unlucky that three points weren't claimed on the day it didn't ruin my day in any way. Thank you to all at Cardiff City Football Club who made my day enjoyable and made my parents and I feel very welcome. I am proof that all supporters should, where possible, join the foundation too."
The full prize included an excellent pre-match 3 course meal and drinks, seats with the directors and fellow guests, half time and full time refreshments, match programme and photograph.
The inaugural event proved to be an outstanding success and it is intended to offer this prize again later in the Spring. Check the official website regularly for all Academy Foundation updates.
A further firm date to note in your diary is the 'Media day Saturday' on April 10th. Further details will again follow.
