Cardiff City goalkeeper David Marshall looks likely to start for Scotland against Wales on Saturday following an injury to Sunderland stopper Craig Gordon.
Scots boss George Burley is set to make Marshall his number one choice after Gordon fractured his left forearm during the 2-0 defeat at Tottenham.
The injury opens the way for Marshall, signed by Cardiff from Norwich during the summer, to walk out with the Scotland team in front of his home crowd at Cardiff City Stadium. He is likely to get the nod ahead of Aberdeen's Jamie Langfield, the third keeper in Burley's squad.
Marshall, in the Scotland squad along with Bluebirds striker Ross McCormack, will be in opposition to City midfielder Joe Ledley, who was named in the Wales party for Saturday's international..
Gordon, a £9million signing, was injured in a collision with Spurs striker Jermain Defoe, and Black Cats boss Steve Bruce said: "Craig is in a lot of pain."
It is not yet known how long 26-year-old Gordon will be sidelined, but he will sit out the friendly against Wales.
Gordon attempted to play on at White Hart Lane, but was replaced by Marton Fulop and taken to hospital, where X-rays revealed the fracture.
He returned to the North East with the rest of the Sunderland squad, where his injury will be monitored.
