Dave Jones likened his Cardiff City team to a wounded animal after their dramatic 2-1 win over Doncaster Rovers.
Manager Dave said: "With all the problems we've had, we've kept going, kept solid and cocooned ourselves as a team. They are showing all the traits of somebody who is up against it and they have dug in.
"It's like a wounded animal. When it's on its back, it will claw and fight and that's what we are doing.
"We should have been well out of sight in the first half. We've had chance after chance to see the game off and full credit to Doncaster they came out in the second half passed the ball well and caused us problems. If we'd come in at half time 4-0 up, nobody could have complained.
"But we dug in and got our rewards. Jay delivered again and he is a big part of the way we play. So is Chops, so is Burkey, and we get every last ounce out of them. We've had a fantastic week - through to the next round of the FA Cup and a great win at Bristol City.
"You can understand the fans' disappointment at what has happened, but the crowd today were superb. They are our home support and they are vital to us. When we were struggling in the second half, when it would have been easy to focus on other things, the crowd played a major part in getting us going. The only person moaning was me on the touchline.
"The fans rallied and got us going, urged the lads to chase the ball down, and we got a corner and scored from it.
"I know we can score goals from all over the park and because of our commitment and desire to keep going when things are hard, we'll get our reward."
Dave said he didn't expect any players to leave the club before the transfer window closes.
He said, "If someone comes in and offers big money, I don't know. I'm going to tell everybody to stay in bed, turn the phones off and hide. I've told them to go away somewhere up a mountain where there are no mobile phones."
