A League Two Championship success is within reach for Kevin Cooper, currently on loan to Walsall from The Bluebirds. Coops, who has played in seven of Walsall's last nine matches, joined Walsall on February 22nd. He was back in their line-up last Saturday after a two-game injury-absence, and helped The Saddlers to a promotion-clinching 2-1 win at Notts County. With three games left, Walsall are two points behind top-placed Hartlepool United and are at home to Bury on Saturday.
Joe Jacobson has played in most of Bristol Rovers' matches since joining them on loan in mid-February, and he was back in their starting line-up for their 1-1 draw at Barnet last Saturday, playing in the left-side midfield position that he has been occupying since going to them. Rovers are four points off a play-off place in League Two with four games left, but if they do make it to the play-offs, Joe will not be able to take part as his emergency-loan period will have expired.
Our young Irish defender Michael Corcoran has played fourteen Conference matches for Oxford United since joining them on loan in late-January. He was in their line-up for last Saturday's 2-1 win at St.Albans, and if Oxford win at home to Stafford Rangers this Saturday, then they will be certain of play-off place in their efforts to return to League football. However, Michael would not be able to take part in any play-off games as his loan expires on April 28th.
Our trainees James Simpson and Kyle Bassett have been regulars in Newport County's sixteen since joining them on "work-experience" in late-March, and they have helped County to within a point of a Conference League play-off position with four matches left. Although Kyle was not in County's squad for Wednesday night's 4-0 home win over Eastbourne Borough, he has made three substitute appearances for them. As for James who came on as substitute against Eastbourne, he has made three starts and three substitute appearances in the last seven games. If County do reach the play-offs, both our trainees will be available for selection.
