A PROSPECT OF GOALS

Posted on: Tue 01 Apr 2008

You score two, we'll score three! That seems to be the current philosophy of West Bromwich Albion who come to Ninian Park tonight looking to score their 100th League and Cup goal of the season.

Last Saturday they were 3-2 down at home against struggling Colchester United with a minute left, but scored twice to win a dramatic match 4-3 and move into fourth place, yet they have now conceded 8 goals in their last three games. The Baggies have in fact seen 51 Championship goals go into their net this season, but with 78 goals scored, their goal-difference of plus-27 is worth a point to them.

We have already scored 7 goals against Albion this season - a 4-2 Carling Cup win at the Hawthorns last September, and a 3-3 draw in The Championship there in January. Of their 99 League and Cup goals scored so far, three players are into double figures - Kevin Phillips (22), Roman Bednar (16) and Ishmael Miller (15).
