BLUEBIRDS 1927 FAN WISHES PLAYERS LUCK

Posted on: Tue 13 May 2008

Cardiff City's oldest fan - 97 year-old David Morgan from Penarth - met the players and management at their training base at The Vale on Friday morning to wish the squad luck for the F. A. Cup Final on May 17th. The significance of David's visit was that, as a 16 year-old schoolboy, he was at Wembley in 1927 when we beat Arsenal to win the trophy. David, a retired bank-manager, was at the semi-final against Barnsley on April 6th, and will be back at Wembley on May 17th for the Final against Portsmouth.

After he visited The Vale on Friday, David and his grandson came to Ninian Park where David had a look behind the scenes. He has now been to Wembley twice, he has seen two 1-0 Cardiff City victories, and is confident that he can make it a "hat-trick".
