Coventry come to us on Tuesday night unbeaten in four matches in the Championship and currently lying seventh in the table.
Included in the current four match unbeaten run is an impressive home win over in form Queens Park Rangers and draws against Sheffield United and current surprise package Preston, coupled with this is a resurgent defensive record which has seen the Sky Blues concede only three goals in the last five weeks having shipped six in two against Newcastle and Bristol City previous to that.
With both sides looking resolute at the back but struggling to score, omens don't look promising for a goal glut with only six goals having been produced in the last five encounters between the two side at Ninian Park; three of which arrived in one match during a 2-1 home win back in 2004.
Pre-season saw a healthy amount of transfer activity at the Ricoh Arena as manger Chris Coleman looked to shape his side ahead of his first full campaign. The most notable changes occurred up front where Coleman desperately looked to add goals to his side with the capture of two proven Championship goal scorers.
Welsh International Freddy Eastwood arrived after falling out of favour at fellow midlands outfit Wolves having scored only 3 times in 31 appearances for the Molineux club, a record which was in stark contrast to his spell at previous club Southend where he scored 11 goals despite playing in a relegated side.
Clinton Morrison arrived to partner him up front after allowing his contract to expire at former club Crystal Palace where he scored 113 goals during two spells at the club placing him in the Eagles all time goal scoring chart. Morrison has also scored goal at International level for the Republic of Ireland and despite being within touching distance of 30-years old his 16 goals for Palace last term was enough to convince Coleman that the striker has plenty of goals left in him yet.
Icelandic midfielder Aron Gunnarsson also arrived via Steve McLaren's AZ Alkmaar while Sunderland full-back Steven Wright was also brought in on a free.
As for those who went out the exit; ex-Cardiff loanee Julian Gray joined Premiership outfit Fulham, initially on loan but with a view to a permanent deal. Veteran midfielder Stephen Hughes also left for League One side Walsall after four seasons with the club.
