RIDSDALE ON JOHNSON INCIDENT

Cardiff City Chairman Peter Ridsdale issues a statement:

We have now had the time to review the video footage of the incident where Roger Johnson was 'elbowed' in the throat by Claude Davis in our match at Crystal Palace on Saturday 11th April 2009.

In our opinion, the challenge looks deliberate and malicious and could have more seriously endangered Roger Johnson's well being than hopefully is the case. We are now asking the Football Association to investigate as a matter of urgency.

If that incident had happened off the field of play, the police would have been asked to view the video with a view to considering assault charges. Any further comment will only be made once we have had a response from the FA.
