We can officially confirm the first capture of the summer as the Bluebirds have acted swiftly in securing the services of David Marshall from Norwich City.
The goalkeeper put pen to paper on Tuesday evening and became Dave Jones first summer signing.
David moved to Carrow Road in the summer of 2007 for £1m from Celtic after impressing on loan and was the only ever-present player for the Canaries last season. He was also called upon to make some impressive saves in our trip to Norwich this season.
The Bluebirds new signing started his career at Scottish giants Celtic and put in some outstanding performances notably against Barcelona saving a Ronaldinho penalty. Marshall had a big hand in the memorable 1-0 victory.
We are sure that all Bluebirds will give David a very warm welcome when the new addition runs out in the new stadium.
Marshall's agent, Willie McKay, said the player was looking forward to joining the Welsh club, who narrowly missed out on the Championship play-offs and move to a brand new stadium next season.
"He's really delighted to be coming to a great club like Cardiff City," McKay said. "Cardiff City is potentially a big, big club and all they need to do is step forward into the Premier League and I think they'll be there to stay.
"I'm sure that David will... be a big fans' favourite and I always thought that David would play in the Premier League at some stage and I hope it's with Cardiff City."
