Cardiff City Stadium's first competitive fixture has been confirmed as a visit from freshly promoted Scunthorpe United. The Irons have been pulled out of the fixtures computer to take up a spot in the Championship opening weekend on Saturday August 8^th.

The Carling Cup first round draw of Dagenham & Redbridge means that we have two close home games to kick us off before our first away trip the following Saturday to Blackpool.

Bristol City will be our second home league opponents on Saturday August 22^nd, Newcastle United visit the 'City Stadium on September 12^th, our Liberty Stadium outing comes on Saturday November 7^th, while a Championship trip to 'Boro comes our way on December 12^th.

Christmas is often discussed. In 2009 we again welcome Plymouth Argyle as our Boxing Day guests - though as last season there's no New Years Day game.

After an April 3^rd visit from the Swans, we close the season with an away trip to Derby County.
