LEGENDS: LINKING THE PAST TO THE PRESENT

Posted on: Thu 02 Jul 2009

Article & Interview: Mark Denham

Roger and Jason spoke prior to Saturday's legends fixture about how much they were looking forward to playing in the City colours again and why the game would still have a competitive edge to it.

"Hopefully we will see a few goals, but I can guarantee that the occasion will have a spirited feel to it, that's for sure" said Roger. "Today will be a great occasion, particularly for the old boys and the ex players who've worn the Cardiff shirt at Ninian Park over the years".

Jason agreed with Roger's view on the competitive aspect of the fixture.

"It's obviously going to be an enjoyable atmosphere on Saturday but there will be a serious feel to it as well as we all want to be on the winning side"! added the former City skipper. "We all love to play football still and it's going to be great to meet up with so many players that we have played with in the past.

"A lot of us have played in charity matches and testimonials at Ninian Park after leaving the club and it's always an honour to represent the club again on occasions like this" Jason continued. "This afternoon links the past to the present in a way; I personally can't wait".

With close to forty City legends due to participate in Saturday's Legends game, City fans will be able to enjoy the feel of their new surroundings by seeing some of their former favourites from over the years.

Entry is only £5 for adults and £2.50 for concessions.
