DOUBLE SCOTCH FOR CITY

Posted on: Tue 04 Aug 2009

Cardiff City goalkeeper David Marshall and striker Ross McCormack have been called up by Scotland for their crucial World Cup qualifying tie against Norway in Oslo next Wednesday.

The Bluebirds pair will join a squad battling to clinch second spot in Group Nine, with Holland having qualified in top place.

Ross has appeared for Scotland four times, and scored a vital goal in the 2-1 World Cup win over Iceland last April.

David will be looking to add to his two Scotland caps and is one of two keepers in the squad with strong Cardiff connections - the other is ex-City keeper Neil Alexander, now with Rangers.

The club would like to congratulate David and Ross on being honoured by their country.

David's call-up comes before he has played a competitive match for us - and don't forget that you can see him make his Championship debut for City in Saturday's big kick-off against Scunthorpe at our fantastic new stadium.
