HUDSON GIVEN THE NOD

Posted on: Fri 07 Aug 2009

MARK HUDSON has been named Cardiff City club captain for the new season.

Central defender Mark, 27, who joined us from Charlton in May, told cardiffcityfc.co.uk: "This is a fantastic honour for me.

"Dave Jones took me to one side on Friday and told me that I was going to be captain.

"It's great for a new boy like me to be made skipper and it will be tremendous to lead the team out for the first league match at the new stadium.

"You can imagine how I feel - I came here with the basic aim of making sure I get into the team, and now I'm captain.

"It's a job that I enjoy. I was skipper at Charlton last year, but this time round I expect to be operating at the right end of the table!"

Be sure to welcome Mark into his captain's role on Saturday v Scunthorpe. Get tickets online or by calling 0845 345 1400 now.
