NATIONAL SERVICE FOR YOUNG STARS

Posted on: Thu 20 Aug 2009

Rising Cardiff City stars Darcy Blake and Aaron Morris are in the Wales squad to face Italy in a UEFA under-21 qualifier at Swansea on Friday September 4th.

Full back Adam Matthews, who made an impressive senior debut for City in Tuesday's 3-1 victory at Plymouth, is on standby.

Blake and Morris played in this month's 4-1 qualifying win over Hungary at Wrexham, and they are joined in the squad by former Bluebirds Chris Gunter and Aaron Ramsey.

Wales top Group Three with seven points from three games, a point ahead of Hungary and six ahead of Luxembourg, though Italy and Bosnia-Herzogovina have yet to play a game.

Well done all three lads on getting the call.
