Cardiff team news: The Bluebirds have been boosted by the news that two full-backs will come back into contention for the midweek game with Rovers. Tony Capaldi is available after serving his one-match suspension for his sending off at Plymouth, while Mark Kennedy could be fit after recovering from injury.

New loan signing Kelvin Etuhu is pushing for his first start for the club after making his debut from the bench in the severn-side derby with Bristol City, while Stephen McPhail will also be hoping to be involved after returning to the bench against the Robins.
Bristol Rovers team news: Rovers' manager Paul Trollope will be without the services of loan 'keeper Fraser Forster, who has not been given permission to play by parent club Newcastle. Steve Elliot is back to full fitness, while Dominic Blizzard is also nearing a return and may be involved at Cardiff City Stadium.
Bristol Rovers' season so far: After an opening day defeat at home to Leyton Orient and star striker Rickie Lambert leaving shortly after, Bristol Rovers' fans could be forgiven for not being filled with optimism for the season ahead. But four wins later and the Pirates are flying, with memories of Lambert being shoved to the back of the memory - at least for now anyway.

Paul Trollope's side play Cardiff in the Carling Cup Second Round tonight after seeing off Aldershot in Round One, with former Swansea striker Darryl Duffy grabbing a brace. League wins - against Stockport and Hartlepool on the road and more recently Huddersfield Town on home soil - have seen Rovers move into the top six in League One, just behind Charlton and Leeds who both have 100% records intact.
Last meeting: You have to go back almost nine years for the last time Cardiff met Wednesday night's opponents Bristol Rovers. Like Wednesday's meeting at Cardiff City Stadium, the two clubs faced each other in a cup tie, with Ninian Park the setting for an F.A. Cup First Round fixture. And Cardiff will be hoping for a similar score line this week after hitting the Pirate's for five in 2000. An Andy Johnson own goal did give Bristol Rovers the lead on the night, but the Bluebirds hit back with goals from Kevin Evans, Leo Fortune-West and a hat-trick from Rob Earnshaw to advance handsomely into Round Two.
Teams from last meeting at Ninian Park on 19th November 2000:
Bluebirds: Walton, Legg, Young, Jordan, Low, Gabbidon, Bonner, Evans, Bowen, Fortune-West (Brayson 80), Earnshaw (Collins 84). Subs not used: Greene, Nogan, Brazier.
Bristol Rovers: Culkin, Foster, Thomson, Astafjevs, Ellington ,Bryant, Bignot, Hogg, Johansen (Ellis 67), Wilson, Jones (Walters 67). Subs not used: Clarke, Hillier, Foran.
Attendance: 8013.
Bristol Rovers last time out: Bristol Rovers made it four wins in a row and moved up to fourth in League One after edging out promotion-hunting Huddersfield at the Memorial Stadium. A Jeff Hughes penalty six minutes from time proved to be the winner and ended the visitors' previously unbeaten run in the process.
Bristol Rovers: Forster, Regan, Anthony, Coles, Lescott, Pipe, Campbell, Lines, Hughes, Kuffour (Blizzard 85 ), Duffy (Williams 78). Subs not used: Phillips, Elliott, Reece, Hunt, Swallow.
