WHITTS: LET'S GO ALL THE WAY
Peter Whittingham has warned every other team in the Carling Cup: "We're in to win it."
Midfielder Whitts, a key player in the Bluebirds' flying start to the season was speaking ahead of Wednesday's second round tie at home to Bristol Rovers.
He said: "I'm asked can we win it, and my answer is: Why not? On our day we're a match for any team in the country. Let's go on in the Carling Cup and get those big days out like we had in the FA Cup a couple of seasons ago."
Whitts also paid tribute to every one of the team-mates who have helped put City top of the Championship after four games, but said: "Maybe Joe Ledley doesn't get the plaudits he deserves. The amount of running he does in a game is scary, and he always makes himself available on the pitch.
"And Adam Matthews has done brilliantly in his first two games in the first team. You can hardly believe that he's not been playing all the time. We've been scoring plenty of goals, but don't forget the defence - we haven't missed Roger Johnson because Mark Hudson and Anthony Gerrard have come in and done so well."
