New loan signing Kelvin Etuhu gets his first start for Cardiff City as they welcome Bristol Rovers in the Carling Cup. He partners Michael Chopra in attack, with Jay Bothroyd rested as he nurses a slight knock.

Peter Enckelman takes over in goal from David Marshall, who is on the bench, and Gabor Gyepes partners Anthony Gerrard in central defence in place of skipper Mark Hudson.

Stephen McPhail takes over the captaincy, operating in central midfield alongside Gavin Rae. Tony Capaldi, who missed Sunday's victory over Bristol City because of suspension, returns at left back, with Paul Quinn switching to the right.

Mark Kennedy and Riccy Scimeca are on the bench after returning from injury.
