Cardiff City have been drawn to face Aston Villa at  Villa Park in the third round of the Carling Cup.

The last time the Bluebirds faced Villa in a cup tie was back in 1949  for the FA Cup 4th round. Cardiff ran out  2-1 winners infront of 70,000 fans at Villa Park.

The tie will be played in the week commencing the 21st of September.
