Chris Burke is certainly one of the early contenders for player of the year following some inspirational and often mercurial play to ignite any performance or result.

Speaking of the win on Tuesday, Chris has admitted that it was just the tonic the Bluebirds needed after some indifferent league displays which had resulted in more than one knife being sharpened in the watching press pack.
"The win over Derby can only give us confidence," stated the winger. "The Championship is a weird division as you can see from the results on a regular basis. We just have to keep our feet on the ground and make sure we get some kind of consistency going.
"I thought we worked really hard, we were trying to rectify the last two league games when we were disappointing and the results were poor. On Tuesday night we wanted to make sure that we played well for the fans, for the manager and for ourselves.
"I thought we dominated most of the game. They didn't create many chances, but we were sloppy at the start of the second half which let them back into the game, although we showed great determination to go on and win it.
"We're a great attacking team, especially on the counter-attack. Teams need to watch that because when they are going for it like Derby did at times we can break with a lot of pace and we are dangerous when we attack.
"I was happy also with the goal. It's something that I need to add to my game, but I was just as pleased to have set one up. The all round performance was great, but we now need to take the positives into the weekend and show that we're more than a team capable of one great result."
