Messages of support have been flooding in for Cardiff City midfielder Stephen McPhail, who was diagnosed last week with stage one MALT lymphoma.
Macca is facing three weeks of treatment for the condition, a form of lymph node cancer, and his doctors expect him to be back in action by January next year.
Bluebirds fans have been in touch with Macca via the messageboard on this website, but we have also received e-mails backing Stevie from Leeds, Barnsley and Swansea supporters.
Marcus Ellison wrote: "I live in Australia and have read via the internet that Stephen McPhail has been diagnosed with cancer. As a man born and bred in Leeds and as a staunch follower of Leeds United I would really like you to offer him my support and best wishes at this difficult time."
Nick Rothery e-mailed: "Stephen is a great player and is still held in very high regard amongst us Leeds United fans, we will be praying that he makes a quick and successful recovery from this illness, and he will never be far from our thoughts. Good luck Stephen."
Chris Hayhoe said: "I would like to wish Stephen McPhail a speedy recovery. I am a Barnsley fan and this has touched me. Good Luck Stephen."
Another Barnsley follower, Paul Simmons, got in touch to say: "Could you please pass on my best wishes to Stephen McPhail and his family as he battles with this illness. I look forward to him returning to playing football again once he beats this illness."
Ireland follower Gavin Fields wrote: "Just heard of your medical problems. As a proud Manchester United and Ireland supporter, just got back from Paris and I have been a much broken man by the result as I am sure you share. However, having just read about your bad news on it puts it in perspective. I wish you a full recovery and I'm sure you are strong enough to power through. I'll be watching out for you from now son, keep us informed."
Ian the Jack wrote from our South Wales rivals: "I would like to wish Stephen a speedy recovery and hope to see him playing for Cardiff City again after Christmas."
