Currently sitting in 7th spot, City will jump to fourth if they overcome Roy Keane's Tractor Boys on home turf.

Newcastle United extended their lead at the top of the Championship with a convincing 3-0 win over Swansea City at St. James' Park on Saturday. Two goals from on loan striker Marlon Harewood sent the Magpies on their way to a solid home victory that meant the Swans dropped to 6th place.

Warren Feeney had to settle for a spot on the substitutes bench against West Bromwich Albion as the free-scoring Baggies put four past Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough to stay in second. Two first-half Simon Cox strikes put Roberto Di Matteo's side firmly in control, the Owls unable to deal with West Brom's attack as goals from Jerome Thomas and Chris Brunt completed the rout.

Leicester City remain in third place, despite Martyn Woolford's injury time equaliser for Scunthorpe United at Glanford Park. The Foxes had taken a third minute lead through Martyn Waghorn, though a spirited second half performance from the Iron saw them snatch a point at the death. Nottingham Forest's 4-1 win at home to Doncaster Rovers moved them up to fourth in the Championship whilst Queens Park Rangers' 2-2 draw at home to Coventry City moved them above Swansea in to fifth on goal difference.
