DAVE HAILS 'BRILLIANT' FANS
Dave Jones has said a massive "thank you" to the fans who have backed him by taking up Cardiff City's season ticket offer.
Dave was reacting to news of the club's record day for sales on Wednesday, when supporters snapped up more than 1,000 season tickets.
City promised fans who buy a season ticket before the New Year's Eve deadline FREE football next season if the club are promoted to the Premier League. Cash from ticket sales will go towards new players for Dave's team building.
Dave said: "The one thing I can promise the fans is everybody is working really hard and I think the supporters have appreciated that because we've sold more than 9,000 season tickets, which is absolutely unbelievable because I don't think anybody in this club thought we would get to the 10,000 mark, which I hope we do. That would be another fantastic achievement for this club in the time that I've been here.
"Wednesday was a record day for season ticket sales - more than 1,000. It says everything about how brilliant our fans really are. It also shows that everybody here is together and that's the most important thing.
"The chairman has promised that all the money that comes in will go to bringing in players. He was up here yesterday and took a list of players and now he's got to go out and try to get them - players we feel we can get and we can afford.
"If we get £3million then we can do a lot of damage with that!
"We'll see who's around. We've been keeping tabs on a lot of people, but every game I've been to I've seen another 10 or 15 managers there as well. So what I'm looking at I will guarantee you everybody else is looking at. If we've got the money we'll make sure we use it wisely.
"The money we've had before we've used wisely, but this is the first time in my time here that we come to the January window and we've been able to have a push and strenghthen the squad."
