STADIUM WINS HEALTH AWARD
Cardiff City Stadium has been recognised as a venue that promotes the health of visitors, fans, employees and volunteers in the stadium and surrounding community.
Club chairman and chief executive Peter Ridsdale was presented with a certificate recognising our commitment to support the European Healthy Stadia programme at Wednesday's Cardiff Healthy City Event.
The Event was held at the Stadium, and Peter, who made the opening address to delegates, said: "Health in general - healthy eating, education for the children - must be recognised so that people in the future understand that lifestyles are so important.
"It's important for the city as a whole and it's important for the stadium to be associated with such an award. We are delighted that the football club is part and parcel of this partnership.
"The award of healthy stadium status demonstrates again that Cardiff City. as a football club and as a site, is an integrated part of the community working with the city council, social services and schools. Of course our players are role models, and Football in the Community and our first team squad work hand in hand with the council to make sure that the education programme gets far and wide throughout the local area."
