The dream of running on to the Wembley pitch got a little closer for some of South Wales' rising football stars, as more than 250 schoolchildren took part in the Cardiff City Texaco Community Cup in Cardiff.
Murch Junior School from Dinas Powis won the tournament on penalties against St Joseph's RC School from Penarth.
More than 30 six-a-side squads from schools across South Wales took part in the tournament, including children from schools in Cardiff, Vale of Glamorgan, Merthyr, Caerphilly and RCT. The day was staged thanks to a £3,000 donation from partner Chevron, owners of the Texaco brand, to help support Cardiff City's Community development programme.

The under 11s competing in the tournament were hoping to follow in the footsteps of Glyncoed Primary from Pentwyn, Cardiff, who represented the Bluebirds in 2009, and scooped the ultimate prize - the glory of playing at Wembley - after battling their way through a series of regional rounds.
Karen Parry, area sales manager for Chevron, said: "The Texaco brand has been supporting Cardiff City through its sponsorship of the Championship for the last two seasons, and we were delighted to support the club with their community programme and the Community Cup."
Headed by former Bluebirds player, Scott Young, The Cardiff City Football in the Community Programme aims to engage with schools across South Wales to increase participation and broaden access to football for young people in the community.

Scott Young, said: "The Community Cup is a key part of our ongoing commitment to use football to assist young people to improve their health and educational attainments whilst raising personal aspirations and self esteem. It's great to see so many school children were able to take part in this year's challenge, and we're exceptionally grateful for Texaco's support in making the day a success."
