CITY READY FOR A POSH TUESDAY NIGHT
After a disappointing performance at Newcastle on Friday, Cardiff City will be looking to bounce back on Tuesday night when the Championship's bottom club Peterborough United visit Cardiff City Stadium. Simon Glanville previews the game.
Cardiff team news: Stephen McPhail is likely to be involved again on Tuesday after making his long-awaited return at Newcastle. Gavin Rae is fighting to be fit after not making it at St James' Park, whilst Dave Jones has further fitness worries over Jay Bothroyd who limped out of the Newcastle game with a thigh injury.
Peterborough team news: Jim Gannon will have Craig Morgan available after the defender returned from suspension in the Posh's last game with QPR. Tom Williams should be fit after returning from injury in the same game, but Gabriel Zakuani is struggling with his fitness and was absent last time out. Utility defender Charlie Lee is also a doubt after sustaining a dead-leg against Rangers.
Peterborough's season so far: The league's bottom club has struggled to adapt to life in the Championship after coming up from League One, but will hope new boss Jim Gannon can guide them to safety. Gannon took charge of the Posh at the beginning of February, taking over from former boss Mark Cooper. He faces a tough challenge to keep United in the division and will need to start picking up points soon.
Last meeting: It was some game when we met the Posh earlier this season, although Cardiff fans will not want reminding. The Bluebirds raced into a four-goal interval lead after Joe Ledley grabbed a brace and Jay Bothroyd and Peter Whittingham added their names to the score sheet. But Peterborough were a different side after the break and managed to salvage a last gasp draw after Josh Simpson got his second goal at the death. Charlie Lee had added to Simpson's first and George Boyd made it 4-3 in the 89th minute before Simpson broke Cardiff hearts.
Teams from last meeting at London Road on 28th December 2009:

Attendance: 9,796.
Peterborough last time out: Jim Gannon broke his duck in his first game in charge as Peterborough defeated nine-man QPR at London Road. Want away striker Aaron MacLean scored the only goal of the game after nine minutes, whilst the Super Hoops later had Mikele Leigertwood and Peter Ramage dismissed.
