SCOTS CALL UP MARSHALL

Posted on: Tue 23 Feb 2010

Congratulations to Cardiff City goalkeeper David Marshall, who has been called up for the Scotland squad to face the Czech Republic in Glasgow on Wednesday, March 3.

Marshall is one of three keepers in the squad, along with ex-Bluebird Neil Alexander, now at Rangers, and Sunderland's Craig Gordon.

David, who has won five caps for Scotland, has played 27 games for City this season, but missed Saturday's match with Barnsley because of a knee injury.

He figures in Craig Levein's first squad since being appointed national tream manager and is the only one of City's six-strong Scottish contingent to be chosen.

Alexander's fellow Rangers keeper Allan McGregor has been left out of the squad after being injured in an incident during a night out in Glasgow last Saturday.

McGregor, who had been attending the birthday party of a Celtic player, was treated at Glasgow's Southern General hospital and later discharged.

In addition to David Marshall, the following Cardiff City players have been selected for International duty, all on March 3:

Gabor Gyepes - HUNGARY v Russia.

Peter Enckelman - Malta v FINLAND.

Warren Feeney - Albania v NORTHEN IRELAND.
