Dave Jones goes to Preston on Saturday knowing that his opposite number Darren Ferguson can call for loan players from one of the best managers in the world - his dad Sir Alex.
Forward Danny Welbeck and midfielder Matthew James have joined Preston on loan from Manchester United, and Cardiff City boss Dave said ahead of the Championship clash at Deepdale: "Good luck to Darren - it's a pity we haven't got somebody close that we could call on.
"As a manager, you use every resource you've got. Darren has an advantage because his dad's at one of the best clubs in Europe.
"If Darren needs to call on him then I'm sure Sir Alex will be favouring his son and that's natural. Nobody in the game will have a problem with that. I'm sure that everyone would wish their dad was manager of Manchester United and they could get players on loan.
"I'll guarantee Darren won't always get the players he wants because Sir Alex will keep his own house in order and he will only let out players when he thinks it's right.
"But this sort of situation can be a hindrance for young managers because when Derby came here last season I thought we were playing Brian Clough by the way everyone reacted, not Nigel Clough.
"Everybody went off about Nigel's dad, and I was surprised that Nigel turned up and not his dad that day, because everybody got carried away."
