Dave Jones has warned his Cardiff City players that there can be "no excuses" as the Bluebirds prepare for their promotion showdown at Leicester.
The gaffer said: "They can't use any excuse that they aren't getting their opportunities, because they are, thanks to the size of the squad we have.
"It is difficult for everybody at this club at the moment in time, but the one thing I can promise the fans is that we are trying our hardest to stay where we are and push on to deliver what everybody expects. Of course we believe we can be promoted - we are hanging in there and fighting for our lives.
"With everything that's going on around this place - and every day there seems to be something else that somebody has found or somebody is accusing this club of - that can be wearing on you, but on the football side it doesn't matter - there's always pressure. You just get on with it, and that's what we do.
"I can only look after the football side - that's my job and I do it to the best of my ability. Some people think I'm doing OK, some people think I'm not."
Dave also revealed that central defender Gabor Gyepes is struggling with a back injury, and there are also doubts over Kevin McNaughton and Adam Matthews. But he hopes to have Peter Whittingham, Mark Kennedy and Stephen McPhail back in the squad.
Dave said: "Whitts, Stevie and Sparky did a little bit of training with us yesterday, and we'll see how they have reacted before we travel to Leicester.
"Against Ipswich on Tuesday, we looked lost for creativity in the midfield area, and two of the players I hope to have back are creative midfield players. Gavin Rae and Darcy Blake are more like destroyers, they are not ones we look at to pick out passes. That's what we lacked at Ipswich - a little bit of creativity, players who could put their foot on the ball, slow it down and pick it up for us. The players who have been out are the people who could do that for us.
"Any side who loses players like Ledley, McPhail and Whittingham would find them a big loss. But we've hung in there, dug deep so hopefully there's a little bit of light at the end of the tunnel with two of those players coming back. We might start to move forward.
"The quality of Thursday's training session was ten times better than we've had for the last week or so. That's nothing against the players who have been there, it's just that you sign players to do certain jobs and all our creative players have been injured.
"It's no coincidence that since we lost Joe and Stevie that inconsistency has been in our game. We have been a little bit inconsistent with our results and that goes hand in hand with not having the team to pick that we want and having to chop and change because of the injuries.
"But with the problems with Gabor, Naughts and Adam, we get three back and then another three are doubtful. Hopefully we can get Gabor up, along with Adam and Kevin, and that will make the squad that little bit stronger.
"Everybody is confident, although we know we are going into a game that will be tough for us.
"The court cases involving the club have had no impact on the players. They are still picking up their wages. They come in every day, they train, we haven't changed the training facilities, we haven't downgraded on anything, we still play with round footballs.
"But I have to say to the players you will be playing week in week out, that's what you want, go and strut your stuff. If I had been able to bring players in and leave some out, the ones you leave out would come knocking on my door and asking why.
"I hope the people who are supposedly going to invest in the football club do it and do it soon because that would be a massive boost to everybody.
"Then people can stop hammering the club, and we can try and move on. That's what the fans deserve. A lot of fans travelled on Tuesday night, they'll travel again tomorrow and again to Coventry on Tuesday.
"It's a tall order for them and we want to do our best for them. Sometimes it doesn't happen but it's not for the want of trying."
