Skipper Jay Bothroyd took stock of Cardiff City's dramatic win at Coventry and promised the fans: "We can build on this."
Peter Whittingham's last-minute penalty gave the Bluebirds a 2-1 victory which kept them firmly in the play-off zone, three points ahead of seventh-placed Sheffield United with a game in hand and a far superior goal difference.
City have 10 games left to play in the Championship - six at home and four away - and Jay said: "This is the end of our bad run of form but we have to build on today. It was a great performance. There are big demands on the boys but we have dug in, worked hard and got the three points.
"We had a few chances to wrap the game up earlier, but it wasn't to be.
"We rode our luck a little, because they hit the crossbar at the end, but we got the rub of te green tonight and we''re all happy. It was great team performance, strong and resilient, and we can build on this.
"We played pretty well against Leicester and didn't get the right result, so it was important that we got the right result today, even if we didn't play well.
"But I thought we did play well and we controlled the game for long periods, especially in the first half, We had lots of chances and we deserved to win in the end."
Jay said of the late penalty award: "Their player put his hands up in the box so it can always be given, but there was a situation before that which was a penalty where he has nudged th ball away with his hand. That wasn't given, so the ref made up for his mistake there."
