HUDS: I'M A LOUSY SPECTATOR

Posted on: Tue 13 Apr 2010

Cardiff City club captain Mark Hudson returned to full training and revealed: "It's been agony watching from the sidelines."

Central defender Huds last figured as an unused sub in the 6-0 victory at Bristol City on January 26 before going into hospital for an operation on a ruptured ankle tendon.

There were fears that he would be out for the rest of the season, but he returned to training on Monday, and is ready to play some part in the Championship match at Queens Park Rangers on Saturday.

Huds said: "It's very, very good being back in training - it was horrible watching from the sidelines. I'm not a good spectator. I've been watching the games on edge all the time.

"I*'ve been supporting the boys, but now I'm back I can push whoever is in the team, and that competition will be good. The boys have done well defensively, with Kevin McNaughton back, looking good and and linking the forwards and defence very well.

"We're also solid in midfield, with Joe back and getting a couple of games under his belt. As far as I'm concerned it's full speed ahead now and I'm back in contact training. The sun's shining, and things are looking good with the lads in a very good position to push for the play-offs."
