Local hero Joe was on the mark with an 80th minute header to clinch victory at QPR to guarantee the Bluebirds a top six spot and send the travelling fans wild with delight..
Joe said: "That was a very important goal, but the job's not finished yet. We've got two games to go and the play-offs.
"It wasn't just about me today, it was all the boys. They put in a great performance. It was a tough game for us and credit as well to QPR - they came out and did well. We had that little bit of luck in the second half and it was good to get the goal.
"I've only had two or three games since coming back from injury and thankfully I played 90 minutes today and everything went well. I'm starting to get my sharpness back, and in the two league games we've got left we've got to keep going and get as many points as we can.
"I was only a yard out when I scored. It was a great ball from Sparky, who'd worked it with Whitts on the left and all I had to do was hit the target. Thank God it went in.
"The way we've played this season we deserve to be in the play-offs. Obviously we learned from the mistakes of last season and we have a great squad and a great bunch of players. Hopefully we can all achieve what we want to achieve and that's to be in the Premier League.
"The fans are going to be absolutely buzzing, but it's not over yet. We have two league games to go, then the play-offs and we'll give 100 per cent in every single game we play to get out of this division. We all want to get out of it and with the players we've got, we have a good chance.
"Last season was disappointing, especially to lose out by one goal. If it had been a point it would have been totally different, but one goal was a bit harsh. We learned from our mistakes and we have proved that today.
"QPR are a solid team and always have been and it's hard to come here and win. But we got the win we were looking for and we'll take it from here.
"We are in the play-offs and anything can happen. We're looking forward to it. Going to Wembley is a great experience, it's a great stadium and it's brilliant for the fans. But we can't think about Wembley when we have two games to come in the play-offs. We'll concentrate on the final if we get through."
