City Manager Dave Jones gave his thoughts to Player after our first pre season match against Bath City.

"It was a great work out for us, especially playing on a big pitch like Bath have," said Dave.

"Everybody has had a good run out and we haven't picked up any injuries so we're in good shape."

"We're not playing too many games over the pre-season as we only finished five weeks ago. But the lads are nearly there, it's now all about getting a little sharper and improving quickness of thought."

And looking ahead to next week's pre-season tour, the manager talked about the continuing preparation ahead of the 2010/11 campaign.

"We're looking forward to Portugal next now," Dave continued.

"We're staying at a nice hotel in the Algarve with some good training facilities. There are certain things we want to work at whilst we're out there and it's all about continuing what we started in the Bath game.

"There'll be two or three trialists joining us out there too, so we'll be taking a good look at them."
