Cardiff City skipper Mark Hudson is already looking to go one better in next season's npower Championship.

Speaking exclusively to Cardiff City Player, Huds said: "I've really enjoyed my first year at Cardiff City Stadium, and I'm just looking forward to starting my second.

"Hopefully we can go one step further than we did last season. We've had to put the disappointment of Wembley behind us and look to the future."

And the central defender has been enjoying the Bluebirds' training camp out in Portugal, relishing the competition for places that currently exists between the Bluebirds defenders.

"It's been a good week in Portugal; the lads are working hard and we're enjoying it," said Huds.

"We've been working hard on new things to try out next year experimenting with shape and tactics. Hopefully we'll end the week with a good performance against Portimonense.

"From a defensive point of view, we've got four centre-halves all trying to impress sufficiently to take one of the two spots. All four of us are chomping at the bit; it's important that everybody's fit and raring to go."
