CITY SWOOP FOR KOUMAS RETURN

Posted on: Thu 05 Aug 2010

Cardiff City are working towards coming out of embargo with the Football League this week - and look to mark the occasion by signing Jason Koumas on a one year loan from Wigan.

Koumas was a fan favourite during his season loan in the 2005/06 season, arguably capturing his best form under 'City boss Dave Jones. The midfielder has travelled to South Wales today to link up with the squad ahead of the opening game against Sheffield United on Sunday.

Chief Executive Gethin Jenkins said: "We continue to work towards removing hurdles at the club and are working with the intention to come out of embargo ahead of the new season. During this time Dave has presented targets including Jason Koumas as he looks to strengthen the squad. We are pleased to have agreed terms with Wigan and to welcome Jason back to Cardiff City."

Jason will take up the squad number 19 for the 2010/11 season.
