SEYI'S ALL PRAISE FOR DANNY

Posted on: Sun 15 Aug 2010

New man Seyi Olofinjana enjoyed a superb debut at Pride Park - but was full of praise for midfield partner Danny Drinkwater.

In response to press tributes for the duo's performance, Seyi said: "The language of football is the same wherever you go - once you start playing with good players you quickly get into your flow. Danny is a superb player and the fantastic thing is that he is only going to get better and better."

"The main thing today though was that we got three points against a good side," he continued. "Derby are going to be contenders this year - they are a massive club.

"We conceded a sloppy goal which the manager spoke to us about at half time. But in the second half I think we changed things slightly and performed very well defensively. We're delighted with the win today."

And Seyi was adamant as to why he chose the Bluebirds last week over other potential suitors, saying: "Because of the club's ambition. Cardiff City have come close to promotion the last two seasons and are still as hungry as ever. Hopefully I can add something to this team and we can acheive our targets this year."
