Originally with Aston Villa whom he joined as a trainee, Peter signed full professional for them in November 2002. He made 66 League and Cup appearances for them as well as having loan-spells with Burnley and Derby County. He was signed by Cardiff City in January 2007 and has been a regular since his arrival. Top scorer in 2009/10 with 25 goals in League, Cup and Play-off matches, he is a former England Youth and Under-21 International.
