Filip Kiss arrives initially for a season long loan at Cardiff City as the current captain of the Slovakian under-21 side. He comes with something of a head start too, having already completed two competitive matches this season prior to joining up with pre-season training with the Bluebirds. The Slovakian season kicks off in late July meaning that not only had Kiss played in Slovan Bratislava's opening day defeat to MSK Zilina, but he had also represented the club in the opening qualifying round of this season's Champions League against FC Tobol. In fact, alongside fellow new arrivals Kenny Miller and Andrew Taylor during the summer of 2011, Kiss, a combative midfielder, became the third summer signing to bring European football experience to Cardiff City Stadium having represented his former club in last year's Europa League, a campaign which included a narrow defeat to German giants VfB Stuttgart.
