ENJOY THE MATCH AWAY SECTION

Posted on: Mon 27 Jun 2011

Cardiff City Football Club officially opened their 'Enjoy The Match' Family Section in the away end against West Bromwich Albion on Tuesday 16 February 2010.

The Bluebirds have allocated 125 seats in the away sections for families only, with a further 30 allocated parking spaces in the designated 'Enjoy The Match' section of the car park.

The Family Section in the away area is heavily branded with the key Football League campaign 'Enjoy The Match' slogans. Families can enjoy a safe and secure environment with the same pricing as home fans in the equivalent area.

Head of Customer Service and Ticketing Julian Jenkins spoke of the success, saying: "We are working non-stop to make the customer experience at the new stadium as memorable as possible and we are always looking at ways to go to the next level.

"We have been using a family section in the away stand for some time, but felt it needed to be clearly identifiable with branding and also more consideration and resources put in place. Against West Bromwich Albion we officially launched our "Enjoy The Match" away section. It was a massive success on the night having spent a lot of time in the area supporters were thanking us for the efforts made.

"A clear message that comes out all too often is that all away supporters want to have is parity, which we are more than happy to provide.

"The overwhelming feeling was very positive and the success on the night was clearly visible with families enjoying the safe and secure environment in the knowledge they don't have to worry about some issues in football like persistent swearing."

As a part of the plan Cardiff City also has two Family Liaison Officers in the area and allocated parking for families adjacent to the entrance to the away section. The concourse area is also heavily branded with the Football League 'Enjoy The Match' campaign slogans, with video and audio messaging to back up the campaign.

Julian continued: "We had a great video sent to us from Lee at Enjoy The Match, which is being played up and down the country. It's a great message and very well put together. We use it three times during the game and again it helps re-enforce the message.

"Cardiff City Football Club will always strive to make coming to football an enjoyable and safe environment that families can come to. We have seen a 500% rise in Season Tickets in the Family Stand and I think that speaks volumes for the work that is being carried out here. This is just the start."
