Cardiff City Football Club hosted its Football Family Festival Day for the visit of Barnsley on the weekend.

We had a fantastic afternoon in the Family Stand, with our Family entertainers Mario and Veronica joined by CBeebies' very-own Alex Winters!

Alex interviewed Darcy Blake and Dekel Keinan for our young audience whilst also helping to judge the fancy dress competition. We had lots of great entries and one lucky child went home with £50 in shop vouchers to spend at the Stadium Superstore.

We were also visited by a family who blog on Netmums - the UK's fasted growing online parenting site. They had never attended a football match before but told us: "We are converts! I never thought we'd say that about football, but we are. It was exciting, friendly, and the facilities at Cardiff City are excellent."

Another key aspect of Saturday's game was that it was 'police free'. Barnsley and Cardiff City supporters enjoyed no segregation as families joined together to enjoy the day.

This was another great landmark for the football club and we would like to thank everyone for their support.
