Jordon Mutch praised his new team-mates following the Bluebirds 4-1 defeat of Newcastle United.

"It was really good to get out there, it was my first forty-five minutes and I've been eager to get out there," said Mutchy.

"The tempo was good from the start, was a good tempo to the game. We pressed them really well and I thought we broke quickly as well. I thought it was a good team performance from the lads.

"I wouldn't say that we are looking to say that we will get promoted, but the group of lads that we have got in the changing room are just looking at every game as it comes and we want to go out there and win it. We've got the confidence to go out there and win it and if you look around the changing room, the quality of player we have got. I think it is a really good bunch of lads."

The midfielder took plenty of personal plaudits after the game too, in response adding: "I like to break forward quickly, I like to give energy to the team, I like to move the ball quickly and create things, set things up and score goals.

"That's what I want to bring to the team. The gaffer knows that from when I was at Watford. I'm really excited to get going. I think these are really exciting times."
