HEIDAR: WE'VE FOUND AWAY FORM

Club News

The Icelandic warrior sends out a stark warning to City's Championship rivals.

“Seven points from the last three difficult away games - that (away hoodoo) has been put to bed now.”

That was Heidar Helguson’s assessment of Cardiff’s 4-1 win at pre-season promotion favourites Blackburn Rover - a win which cemented City’s position atop the Championship league table and made the early-season away-day struggles seem a distant memory.

Helguson himself was integral to the victory with three assists in the short space of twenty-nine second-half minutes which swung an otherwise competitive match firmly in Cardiff’s favour.

With a traditionally congested, and equally notoriously important, Christmas period looming, Heidar expressed no overwhelming concerns for the coming months as long as Cardiff maintain their current high standards.

“As long as we perform like we did tonight then we don’t need to have any worries. Not may teams are going to fancy playing us," he said.

Looking forward to next Saturday’s clash at Cardiff City Stadium with Peterborough, it was clear that Heidar is confident that neither he, nor his team-mates are getting ahead of themselves.

“I can’t see anyone fancying coming to play us, but it’s up to us to perform. It doesn’t matter that we’ve won ten on the spin on Saturday because it’s a new game and we’re going to have to perform to beat Peterborough.”
