Having signed for the City from Coventry in August 2011, 24 year-old centre-half Ben went on to make 43 appearances last season, scoring three goals.

On finalising the deal this Wednesday afternoon, Ben spoke exclusively toCardiff City Player,saying: “I’m very happy to be staying at Cardiff City – this is where I want to be.

“The attitude at this Club is spot on – we’re trying to go forward as one and everybody is working very hard together to make that happen.I’m delighted to be extending my time here and I’ve enjoyed every moment from day one. I know that’s what people may expect me to say, but I genuinely mean every word. I want to play at the next level now and feel I can develop into that player at this Club."
