JORDON: IT'S GOOD TO BE BACK

Club News

“I feel fit, I feel fine, I feel ready to get going.”

Those were the words of returning midfield star Jordon Mutch following his first run out in over two months, playing over an hour for the development squad in the 4-0 home win over Colchester.

“It’s been a long time, but I’m thankful to be out there,” he continued. “I finished sixty minutes out there tonight and feel ok. After a recovery day tomorrow I’ll be back in training on Thursday and Friday, hoping to be a part of the team. I’ll certainly be putting myself out there to be a part of the team when I’m in training. If it happens, it happens, but I want to play a part in keeping this team on a run and up there at the top end of the table.

“It’s been good watching the boys win, but also frustrating as I wanted to be out there and playing. As there’s nothing more I enjoy doing than playing football.”

Jordon was one of the names on the score-sheet on an eventful evening and a free scoring first half at Cardiff City Stadium, his goal raising a smile and celebration for a number of reasons.

“I was happy for Coops (Kevin Cooper), the development squad Manager,” Jordon explained. “We worked on it in the morning and it came off a treat, so I was happy, more so for him because he put the work in today and it took us ages to get it right. So when it worked out tonight I was pleased for myself and for him too.”

A special note of praise was also pointed to the young squad members in the development squad ranks, with Jordon saying, “The young lads have done really well tonight. The way we worked the ball in the first half, the young lads were intelligent enough to work the ball into different positions to cause them problems. It was some good football out there. We were happy with the first half and obviously Colchester caused us problems in the second because they wanted to press us more. But that’s where we need to be a little bit more patient and smarter.”
