The role and candidate expectations are as follows:

The Role:
Cardiff City Football Club is currently looking for a new Academy Manager to take up the position with immediate effect and assume responsibility for the club’s entire academy operations, overseeing the under 21 development squad, the under 18 team, the under 16 team and all age groups below.

The job is a demanding one with considerable unsociable working hours, but is particularly rewarding. The club has a rich heritage of producing quality players capable of graduating to the first team squad and, ultimately, to international recognition. Cardiff City were provisionally classified as a ‘Category Two’ academy under the new Elite Player Performance Plan recently introduced to govern youth football in England and Wales.

The Candidate

The successful applicant must have significant coaching experience, must hold a UEFA A Licence and also ideally hold a current Academy Manager's Licence. The candidate must also have well-established experience of leading a diverse and dynamic team and achieving measureable results meeting demanding standards.

The role will incorporate both on-pitch coaching and an administrative element, meaning the candidate must be equally comfortable in both situations. The programme contains multi-disciplinary elements, so familiarity with working in such an environment is important. You must also have an in-depth understanding of the new EPPP regulations which were introduced in summer 2012.
