MALKY RELISHING FOREST TEST

“We’re playing an experienced team and an experienced manager, so we’re expecting a very tough game,” the manager began.

“Players like Billy Sharp, who’s scored regularly in the division, Jermaine Jenas, Andy Reid and Danny Collins have all been playing at the top level for a long time. They’re at home, but they’ll expect a tough game. Both teams are up there at the moment, and in this division on any given day, anyone can beat anyone.”

And with reference to key personnel travelling to the City Ground, Malky added: “Jordon (Mutch) will train this morning and we’ll see how he is after today. Craig Bellamy will be in the same boat and Tommy Smith will definitely travel.

“We have a similar-sized group to last year - we’re working with around twenty, twenty-one players, so it’s not a big squad. What we’ve got is a better quality squad.

“Everybody’s back (after the international break). Aron Gunnarsson, though he was suspended and didn’t play for Iceland, was with them as the captain of the country and he also needed to go back and see his family – he didn’t get any time off so it was a chance to do that as well. Everybody’s fit and well at the moment in terms of the internationals coming back – Kim lost a tooth in Tehran, but he’s back okay – after three or four flights!”
