Peter Whittingham praised his team-mates on Sunday after City saw off a strong Wolves side 3-1.
Speaking to press after the match, the hat-trick man said: "I thought we showed great character, after losing against Bristol last Saturday which was disappointing for us as its one of those games we should be winning.
"So to go a goal down today and show the character we did was brilliant. Obviously to bet a goal back when we did was pretty important and I thought we went on from there and we were the only team that wanted to win it.
As for his goals, the midfielder was typically coy, adding: "I got a hat-trick at Sheffield United a couple of years ago so it was nice for me to get another one.
"As I said it was all about the team's performance and the win after losing against Bristol. It is all about bouncing back in this league as the games come thick and fast. It was a great team performance for us, and a great three points.
"I probably enjoyed the free-kick the most if you're asking me to pick. There wasn't much room that side with the 'keeper standing there so it was nice to see it nestle in the corner, and obviously it was for the hat trick as well."
