Kevin Cooper’s side reached the final of PDL 2 last term and will be looking to go one step further this term. The Ipswich Town U21 coach will be a familiar face to City fans, Mark Kennedy spent two years with the Bluebirds before leaving for the Tractor Boys in 2010, and he joined up with the coaching staff after retiring from playing in 2012.

City and the Tractor Boys competed in two very different games during the 2012/13 campaign. Cardiff arrived at Ipswich for their first away game last term only to be defeated 6-0 by their hosts in a dominant display. The return leg was equally one sided, this time with a fantastic 3-1 win at Cardiff City Stadium for the home side who were four games into their seven game winning run to the PDL 2 final to end the campaign.

City DVP go into the game on the back of a 100% pre-season win record from eight games including victories over Welsh Premier League sides Port Talbot Town and Gap Connah’s Quay as well as a strong 2-0 success over Skrill Premier side Hereford United. Former Wycombe Wanderers winger Kadeem Harris was arguably the star of the show for Cooper’s side in pre-season, scoring an incredible eight goals to enter the campaign full on confidence in front of goal.

The season’s first game at Portman Road is available for all fans to attend free of charge via the Cobbold Stand, with kick-off at 7pm with City support welcomed at the game.
